At the international level, the World Federation for Mental Health has conferred the status of Voting Member Organization to SEVAC and has expressed immense appreciation of the different activities being undertaken by SEVAC in the wider interest of the mentally ill population. The Federation also extended its support to SEVAC for extending psychiatric services to the tsunami hit people of the Andaman and Niocbar Islands.

Mr. P. J. Garrison, the CEO of the World Federation for Mental Health encouraged the SEVAC team immensely in respect of continuing this arduous and extremely challenging task. He took the trouble to visit the tsunami hit Andaman and Nicobar Islands to have an idea about the pitiable condition of the tsunami hit people. Mr. Garrison also graced a seminar, which was organized by SEVAC for developing a strategy for the human rights promotion of the mentally ill persons languishing in jails world over.

Ms. Shona Sturgeon, the President of the World Federation for Mental Health Kindly graced a national seminar, which was organized by SEVAC in New Delhi for celebrating the World Mental Mental Health Day 2004.

Dr. Tapas Kumar Ray, Chief Functionary and Founder of SEVAC was invited to speak in the plenary session of the WFMH Biennial Congress held in Cairo for highlighting the impact of the joint venture of WFMH and SEVAC in respect of extending psychiatric support to the tsunami hit Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
